STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS FEEL SAFE AT PINE VALLEY

STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS FEEL SAFE AT PINE VALLEY

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District and Pine Valley Middle School are committed to ensuring that all students have a safe learning environment that is free from bullying harassment and discrimination. Providing a safe school environment allows all students equal access to academics and all programs and activities. If you believe that your child has experienced or witnessed conduct which may interfere with another student's ability to participate in or benefit from school services, activities or privileges, please notify a teacher, administrator or staff member immediately.

Discrimination, harassment, intimidation or bullying may be physical, verbal, nonverbal or written. If the incident makes you uncomfortable at school or in any school program, we want to know about it. Any student who feels that he/she is being subjected to discrimination, harassment, intimidation or bullying should immediately contact the principal or any other staff member. Additionally, any student who observes an incident of harassment should report the incident to the principal or other school employee, whether or not the victim files a complaint. Reports can also be made using the CareLine, linked on the home page of our website. CareLine reports can be submitted anonymously.

Students who engage in discrimination, harassment, intimidation and/or bullying will receive appropriate discipline, up to and including suspension and/or expulsion. Although a student may not consider their conduct to be harassment, bullying or discrimination, if the actions create an uncomfortable learning environment or prevent a student from fully participating in school programs and/or activities, then it may be considered harassment, bullying and/or discrimination.

If you would like to know more about our district policy on bullying/harassment and discrimination, visit the District Bullying, Harassment, Discrimination webpage.

Again if you have any questions or would like to make a report, please do not hesitate to contact the principal or any school employee.
