Financial Secretary |
|
The main job is to record income by entering the following in the accounting system: Income Receipts, Associated Deposits from Receipts, Balance Adjustments for credit card fees (or this can be done by the Treasurer). They would also report the Financial Secretary report to present at meetings. |
Financial Reviewer |
|
Help review the finances for the PTA during the year -End of Year Financial Review (required) -Mid Year Financial Review (optional) |
Family Engagement |
|
Brings families in the community together. Coordinate family engagement PTA events/activities and attend monthly family engagement meetings with the district. |
Parliamentarian |
Assists the president to manage meetings and advises on parliamentary procedure. Chairs the Bylaws committee to review unit Bylaws each year and revise Bylaws every three years. Arranges the nominating committee’s first meeting, providing information on the nomination and election process. | |
Reflections |
Art recognition and achievement program for students. Advance your school's Reflections entries, set the deadline for student submissions, communicate and encourage student participation, help students (and parents for elementary grades) submit their art entries, manage student entries, find appropriate judges, prepare entries for judging, advance entries to Council, and celebrate student participants and their artwork with a school showcase and/or recognition gifts. | |
Exceptional Education |
Unites and supports families of students with IEP, 504, GATE, and other educational differences. Brings awareness and advocates for students with special educational needs. Coordinates EEC-sponsored PTA events/activities, including attending monthly EEC council meetings, Inclusive Schools Week in January, hosting a common ground coffee and meeting for your school community, and the Ability Awareness Fair. | |
Historian |
Record the volunteer hours of all PTA members during the school year to be submitted for tax filing at end of year | |
Honorary Service |
A one-time event to coordinate and accept nominations to recognize the service and dedication of individuals or organizations for their outstanding service to children and youth. Includes choosing recipients of awards, printing certificates and getting plaques, and running the awards ceremony. | |
Odyssey of the Mind |
A creativity program for students. Coordinates info night for interested participants in early September, creates a registration form for students, coordinates the teams (6-7 students per team), purchases national membership for Pine Valley, answers any questions from coaches, and acts as a liaison between coaches and the OM association. | |
Dine with Pine |
A PTA fundraiser. Coordinates dining events with restaurants and arranges for a portion of the proceeds to go back to the PTA. | |
Diversity Equity and Inclusion |
Coordinates DEI-sponsored PTA events/activities, attends monthly DEI meetings with the district, plans and runs the multicultural fair in the Spring, and supports initiatives for Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month. | |
PTA Membership |
Ensures membership & Unit Compliance. Units must remit a minimum of 15 members to be a Unit In Good Standing by September. Remittance should be done every two weeks starting in the fall. | |
School Dances |
Work with the Leadership teacher and class to plan and coordinate dances (Fall, Winter, and Spring)Help to manage the parent volunteers needed for each dance Attend and oversee each dance to ensure things run smoothly | |
Sister School |
The Sister School program is a partnership between our SRVUSD school PTAs and schools in a neighboring disadvantaged area of the East Bay. Attends committee meetings at the district level and organizes a sister school donation drive in the winter. | |
8th Grade Events |
Help to plan the 8th grade dance and breakfast at the end of the yearHold planning meetings starting in the Fall to plan the theme and overall partyManage committees for the decorations, entertainment, food, breakfast, swag |
