Daily Bulletin

Good Morning Pine Valley! Today is Wednesday, March 29, 2017.

March is Women’s history month, a time to recognize the many women who have influenced society.  We will honor a different woman each day with a game.  Come to the library to get your game card.

Today’s clue is: While working with the Mark II computer, I discovered a moth had shorted it out, leading to the phrase “computer bug”.  Who am I?

Are you interested in being an Office Aide next year?  Sign up on the Office Aide request sheet in the front office.

Don’t be grey, this Friday is Tacky Tourist Day!  Let’s fly away on Tacky Tourist Day.  Bring your fanny pack and sunglasses for some fun in the sun.

The City of San Ramon’s Outstanding Teen Citizenship Award applications are due Friday, March 31st.  Go to srteen.org for more information.

8th grade Hearing and Vision Screening:  State mandated hearing and vision screen of 8th graders is scheduled for April 14thScreening is done by SRVUSD Nurses.  Students are screened during their PE class. Please encourage your child to wear his/her glasses that day so that we can see if their current prescription is working for them.  Parents are notified of results only if their child DID NOT PASS either screening.  If you have any questions, please email Tracy Fernandez RN at tfernandez@srvusd.net

Sign up for Remind

The intention of Remind is not to replace SchoolLoop. It is an additional avenue to directly communicate with students through a medium they actually use to proactively engage them in school communication so they can fulfill their responsibilities and commitments. Sign up will be completely optional for students and parents but we will highly encourage that both parents and students sign up so they can stay informed. Registration is simple and can be done in 1 of 2 ways:

Option 1: Students/Parents will send a text to 81010 and then be asked to type in the appropriate message (see below) in the message box. Please note… MESSAGE IS SPECIFIC TO GRADE LEVEL! Then simply follow the text instructions from there and answer some questions; name, birthdate, parent information. Downloading the app is not required but suggested to organize messages received from multiple sources.

Option 2: Students may download the Remind app. The app is free. Click on “Join a Class.” Enter appropriate code below. Please note… CODE IS SPECIFIC TO GRADE LEVEL!  It’s that simple.

(all lower case and no spaces)

   Grade 6: @pvpride19

  Grade 7: @pvpride18

    Grade 8: @pvpride17

Please review the website at Remind.com. Please note that their services are FERPA and COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act) compliant so student information is protected. Parent permission/notification will be required for students under the age of 13. This will REQUIRE parents to respond via text message or email once their child (under 13) attempts to sign up. A permission form will actually be emailed to you that parents will have to print and sign. Once a hard copy is printed and signed, you take a picture of the signed form and electronically send the photo to Remind via your phone’s camera.
